BRASS ALLOYS

C23000 - (Red Brass, 85%) 23000 Brass is commonly used for pipe and pipe nipples. Excellent cold working properties; common fabrication processes include forming and bending, threading and knurling. Red Brass is the best quality pipe for general plumbing purposes. 23000 Brass has high corrosion-resistance to water. Furnished in semi-annealed condition.

C26000 - (Cartridge Brass, 70%) 26000 Brass is a non-leaded brass available in sheet, plate, and tube. The 26000 Brass alloy offers the best combination of strength and ductility of all copper-base alloys. Soft temper is widely used for severe cold working operations such as deep drawing and spinning, half hard for stamping and light bending and forming, spring temper combines mild rigidity with good appearance. Typical uses for 26000 Brass include architectural, automotive, hardware, industrial, and munitions. Excellent cold working properties.

C27200 - (Yellow Brass) 27200 Brass is available in tube. Excellent cold working properties.

C27400 - (Yellow Brass) 27400 Brass is available in tube. Excellent cold working properties.

C33000 - (Low Leaded Brass) 33000 Brass is available in tube. The addition of low amounts of lead allow for some degree of machinability, together with moderate cold working properties.

C33500 - (Low Leaded Brass) 33500 Brass is available in tube. The addition of low amounts of lead allow for some degree of machinability, together with moderate cold working properties.

C35300/35600 - (High Leaded Brass) 35300 Brass and 35600 Brass is available in sheet and plate. Machinability ratings of 90 and 100, respectively. Common fabrication processes include blanking, machining, piercing and punching, and stamping.

C36000 - (Free Cutting Brass) 36000 Brass is available in rod and bar. With a machinability rating of 100, it is the standard against which all other copper alloys are rated. Ideally suited for high speed machining; also has excellent thread rolling and knurling properties. Good mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties. This alloy is the most popular copper base rod alloy for general screw machine work.
